Gardeners’ World Recommend our Composting Tool
We thought something strange was going on when suddenly we received more singleton orders for a Compost Aeration Tool than ever before! Turns out subscribers to Gardeners World had their February edition land on their doorsteps and the GW folks have given it a deservedly excellent write up.
“Simple, easy, and well worth the effort” is how they describe it. Couldn’t put it better myself – it is indeed an excellent (and not to mention useful) tool! Available from our Online Shop, the Compost Aeration Tool is plunged down into your Composter or Wormery and when pulled back out the wings at the tip fold open to aerate and mix the contents.

Welsh firm win award for worms’ work!
A printing firm is leading the way in sustainable business development – even employing on-site worms to get rid of food waste.
Aberystwyth-based Cambrian Printers recycles printing plates and recycles 90% of its waste.
The company has been named environmental printer of the year by specialist publication, Print Week.
Cambrian Printers says it takes its environmental role “very seriously” and is always looking for ways to improve environmental performance.
It has installed one central vacuum system for printing machinery – replacing 14 individual ones, saving on energy and providing a healthier working environment for staff.
An on-site wormery turns tea bags and waste food into plant food. [Ed: and compost!]
Robert Read, chairman and managing director of Cambrian, said, “This is a huge award for us which really puts us at the forefront of our industry.“We’ve taken major steps to improve our performance as a business and have considered the environment as a core part of this long term strategy.”

The Original Wormery featured in Gardens Monthly
In this month’s Gardens Monthly (October), they had this to say about our Original Wormery :-
“This sturdy, 100-litre compost bin comes as a complete kit with tiger worms, bedding material and calcified seaweed. There is a seperating drainage tray with legs (to keep the worms from the base of the bin) and a tap for draining off liquid, and brass ventilator openings in the lid to ensure better air circulation, without letting in too much daylight or releasing nasty odours.”
They particularly commended The Original Wormery for being “easy to assemble”, being well sealed and having everything you need included with it.
Also featured in this month’s buying guide was our Classic Rotol Compost Convertor and our Leafmould Compost Bin for creating high-quality Leaf Mould Compost.
Both of these products are available from our website.
